Safran Secret recalls a mysterious adventure lived by founder Thibaud Crivelli during which he discovered a saffron field shrouded in a very thick fog — a deep, sensual composition as captivating as it is enigmatic, where the brightness of a comforting saffron contrasts with the opacity of warm and highly-diffusive woods. Launched in 2025 as the first opus of the prestigious Collection des Mystères Olfactifs and crafted by Givaudan perfumer Gaël Montero, saffron is revealed in a rather subtle light — far from showing off its full strength, dressed in woody and herbaceous notes with balanced formulas, without excess. The first impression is spicy, almost camphor-like, with hints of cardamom — green and peppy, followed by a herbaceous turn. In the heart and drydown, the anise-flavoured opening evolves into a warmer, woody framework with a hint of myrrh, blossoming on a bed of dry woods and balms with hushed sensuality.
